How To Use The Power of a Smile To Your Advantage in Your Business.

Beautiful! Freely Given! Inexpensive! Stylish!

Given to the right person at the right time, could influence what that person does next or maybe the choice they make.

It has the power to break through walls of indifference and warm a blue heart.

Let's discover one of your life's most constructive weapons.

The Smile!

Did you know...

Your smile can be a predictor of how long you live, and a simple smile has a measuring effect on your over all well being.

Studies shown from a London University that 35% of people live longer who have been recorded happy most of their lives.

The smile was rated with the highest positive emotional content. There is magic in a smile. Sometimes your joy can be the reason for your smile, yet again your smile can be the reason for your joy.

I know for me, it is my strongest attribute.

Let's look at the science behind the smile. (NO Yawning, I simplified it)

Let's say you meet a friend you have not seen in a long time.

The positive situation sends neuronal signs from the cortex of your brain stem. From there the cranial muscle carries the signal farther toward the muscles in your face... Creating the smile.

Simple Right!

Once the smiling muscles in your face contract, there is a positive feed loop that now goes back to your brain to reinforce the feeling of joy.

Smiling stimulates your brains reward mechanisms in a way that even chocolate or gold can not match!

Your brain feels good, tells you to smile, you smile, and tell your brain it feels good and so forth.

The feel good neurotransmitters, dopamine and serotonin are all released when a smile flashes across your face. Which facilitates a message to your whole body to be happy and stress free. It also can lower your blood pressure and heart rate.

Go ahead and try it out. Do you see anyone across from you right now? Get their attention with eye contact and smile.

What happened? Did they smile back?

Each time you smile at a person, their brain coaxes them to return the favor. What? This means smiles are contagious.

You are creating a symbiotic relationship that allows both of you to release feel good chemicals in your brain, activating the reward centers, making you both more attractive and increasing the chance of you both living a longer healthier life.

Crazy right! This is good stuff!!

When you smile you make yourself:

- More attractive

- More approachable

- More unforgettable

There are no:

- Age barriers

- Language barriers

So why oh why have studies proven on average an adult only smiles 20 times a day! When children smile on average 400 times a day. Something has to seriously change!

So all of that, you may be asking why I claim Smiling is good for business!

Did you know, when someone looks at you, their eyes are taking a mental picture for their brain. Which means they will capture your smile.

A smile shows that you, the business person of the information is glad to see the customer. It means you are on their side, which means the customers chances of being loyal is automatically higher.

The same things happens when a customer hears your voice over the phone. Are you smiling? You better be!

According to Science Daily, we do hear the smiles of people we do not see. Even the verbal smile a person has when speaking will convey the idea that you are on their side and ready to assist them.
