You are Miserable Because of What You Say, Believe, and Don't Do!

I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it was a nail. ~Abraham H. Maslow

There is a common denominator to many consulting and coach stories.

It always starts with a client who has a problem and is looking for an easy solution.

Usually from me.

Now I see very clearly that the client truly believes this is a dilemma, and their world is upside down because of it.

Even more so, they have tried everything they humanly thought was possible to solve the issue they were facing head on.

They are a bit taken back when I announce I find the solutions in them, not for them.

Sometimes, I get comments like, "Didn't you hear me, I have tried everything." or "Just tell me what to do and I will try that now instead of wasting time."

On a side note, have you ever seen that movie where the girl smacks the hyperventilating, overreacting guy who is screaming because he just saw a car crash and is NOT hurt?

Yeah, that is what I want to do, but instead, I coach.

On a serious note, I see the frustration, the hopelessness, the panic in the eyes of my clients, I need them to see that the panic is not for me because everything is fixable.

All my problems bow before my stobornness.

~ Amit Kalantri

So here are a few things that I start off with that I will share with you if you find yourself in shock from the accident ahead.

1.What is the problem?

Write it out in detail.

2. If the problem did not exist, what does that situation look like?

Write your forward thinking blueprint. Focusing on the destination, rather than the plane is a large part of seeing solutions. How you get to the destination does not matter in this step, just how it should look is important.

3. What are three things you can do right now to head toward the destination (solution)?

Seeing where you are now to where you want to go, your mind can open up to the possibilities of moving forward rather than staying stuck.

There are no right or wrong answers, but what lies in you are all the answers you need.

There are 3 things people get stuck on.

1. The belief of what they think is right!

A belief is just a thought we continue to think as true. Santa filled my stocking as a little girl... right?

This always has an emotional charge attached to it as we are feeling beings.

2. The shit we say creates confusion in our world.

If you were to record all your words of thought you use on a daily basis towards yourself and others every day for a month, which were made privy for the public to hear, you would change your mindset in a hurry.

Being mindful of your thought process can eliminate the problem a hell of a lot faster than the dwelling process.

3. Doing nothing is just as powerful as doing something!

There is always a payoff for creating solutions or creating problems. Just as there is a payoff for not creating problems and not creating solutions.

The only difference is, it is your choice.

We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.

~Albert Einstein

I know, I know, I make of light of it, but if we can just switch our thinking by asking the right questions and changing up the sequencing of solution finding, we create new powerful habits of success.

Sometimes solution solving comes easy, other times it does not, but know you are never alone.

If you find yourself stuck and needing the right questions asked... connect.

Make It A Great Day!

Smiling,

Kryssie Thomson ~
