Fear and Love are the Only 2 Emotions You Have To Work With

I believe that every single event in life happens in an opportunity to choose love over fear.

~ Oprah Winfrey

The most powerful lesson I learned about human emotions was the rule of fear and love.

Love is what we were born knowing, feeling, and expressing.

Fear is what we are taught, and learn from outside sources.

The first time our mother holds us in our arms.

LOVE

The first time we take a step and stumble, mother gasps.

FEAR.

We go through life learning love and fear.

Sure, we label these two words with masks to try and describe our emotions in a way we can be heard, or understood.

We may express words to replace love like : happy, gratitude, joy, excited, energy, proud, trust, honored, appreciated and so forth.

Just like fear, there are many words that become the paradox, such as : hate, jealousy, anger, panic, stress, worry, embarrassment, and so on.

While you were reading these examples, did your mind explore the resemblances behind the love and fear?

Happy : Love

Hate : Fear

Proud : Love

Stress : Fear

Everything is a story we tell ourselves.

Let's explore these examples a little to help with clarity.

In the workplace, a co-worker is tormenting their own thoughts of jealousy due to someone else getting a promotion they were wanting.

If they were in a mindset of love, they would express joy for the other person's achievement, and their self to understand how they can further their own career to be the next available candidate.

Instead fear creeps in and tricks the mind that the the other person is not deserving which means that they were short changed.

Which may sound like this: I have worked harder than anyone in this office. Now the possibility is never going to present itself again to ever move up the ladder.

If you know Napoleon Hill, then you know his book Think and Grow Rich, even better and my all time favorite is his book Outwitting the Devil, The Secret to Freedom and Success.

" FEAR is the tool of a man-made devil. Self-confident faith in one's self is both the man-made weapon which defeats this devil and the man-made tool which builds a triumphant life. And it is more than that. It is a link to the irresistible forces of the universe which stand behind a man who does not believe in failure and defeat as being anything but temporary experiences." -NAPOLEON HILL

This book was written in 1938 but was not published until 2011.

Why?

Napoleon Hill was beyond his years in understanding the thoughts we think bring the things we think, yet his wife begged him not to publish due to the fear of what people would think of him.

If you connect to yourselves, your true selves, in a loving state, by asking an inner question each time you find yourselves in a pickle, you will find the answers you look for.

Ask yourself this:

What am I afraid of?

The answer you find is the solution you will need to correct anything in front of you.

So let's go back to the person who is angry, jealous and wants her co-workers promotion.

What is she afraid of?

This co-worker feels fear of not being smart enough. Fear of not being good enough. Fear of not being able to pay her bills and the promotion was a way out.

Instead choose to look at solutions of gaining more knowledge for the position, loving where you are and blossom to the best of you and your abilities which will be noticed, maybe to even someone with a higher promotion.

A life that is lived with fullness of peace of mind, contentment, and happiness always divests itself of everything it does not want.

The first duty of every human being is to him or herself. Every person owes herself the duty of finding how to live a full and happy life.

Working with companies and their culture, for me, is a way of looking at the fear based thinking that clouds the solutions which may be easier for me to see as I am an outsider looking in, but everyone, every business has solutions waiting to be discovered.

Love what you do, do what you love!
