What You Need Solved
You’re not imagining it, running a fair feels harder than it used to.
You’re juggling people, paperwork, and panic, and somehow the same five volunteers end up doing everything.
Here’s what’s really wearing your team down and what you actually need fixed.
1. Operational Overload
Pain:
-
Everyone’s doing everything, but no one’s sure who’s actually in charge.
-
The “system” is whoever showed up last year.
-
Meetings drag because no one can find the files, the forms, or the passwords.
What you need solved:
-
Structure that actually holds up year after year — not just during fair week.
The Fix:
-
Turn your duct-tape operations into repeatable setups that survive turnover.
Translation:
-
Less chaos, more clarity.
2. Decision Fatigue & Volunteer Burnout
Pain:
-
The same six people are making all the decisions — again.
-
No onboarding, no offboarding, just burnout and guilt trips.
-
New volunteers leave because “no one told me what to do.”
What you need solved:
-
A fair that runs on shared ownership, not exhaustion.
The Fix:
-
Plug-and-play frameworks that make it easy for anyone to step in, contribute, and not drown.
Translation:
-
Less burnout, more buy-in.
3. Lost Knowledge & Legacy Panic
Pain:
-
The “fair brain” retired, moved, or passed away.
-
Years of notes, passwords, and contracts vanished with one laptop.
-
Your board lives in fear of losing the legacy — but no one has time to write it down.
What you need solved:
-
A way to protect your fair’s history and make it usable for the next team.
The Fix:
-
Capture your wisdom before it disappears — and turn it into living, working systems.
Translation:
-
Preserve the legacy and make it easier for the next generation.
4. Wasted Time & Money
Pain:
-
Duplicated efforts, missed grants, forgotten invoices.
-
Paying for things twice because no one realized they already bought it.
-
Another meeting ends with, “Didn’t we already decide that?”
What you need solved:
-
Clarity around decisions, spending, and follow-through.
The Fix:
-
Simple, structured ways to track what’s been done, paid for, and promised.
Translation:
-
Every hour and dollar goes where it actually matters.
5. Communication Breakdowns
Pain:
-
“I didn’t get that email.”
-
“I thought you were doing that.”
-
“We said that in the meeting last month… didn’t we?”
What you need solved:
-
Real communication that keeps everyone in the loop — not just the loudest voices.
The Fix:
-
Templates, clarity, and follow-up that make your board run like a team instead of a telephone game.
Translation:
-
Less drama, more direction.
6. Fear of Change
Pain:
-
“We’ve always done it this way.”
-
Change feels risky, so nothing moves forward.
-
The next generation walks away because they can’t see where they fit.
What you need solved:
-
A way to modernize without losing what makes your fair special.
The Fix:
-
Reframe modernization as legacy protection — because growth shouldn’t feel like betrayal.
Translation:
-
Change is how you protect the legacy.
The Big Picture
Fairs aren’t failing, they’re just drowning in good intentions and broken systems.
You don’t need another binder or another meeting.
You need clarity, continuity, and confidence, so your fair doesn’t collapse when one person burns out.
That’s what we help you build.

What We Do (Together)
If your fair, exhibition, or rodeo runs on memory, sticky notes, and “we’ve always done it this way,” you’re not alone.
Fair Systems That Work helps you bring order to the chaos, building systems that protect your legacy, support your people, and make next season easier before this one’s even done.
We don’t just hand you templates.
We help you build a way of working that actually fits your event and your team.
From Fair Audits that show where the gaps are, to custom handbooks and operations systems that keep everyone on the same page, everything we do is about one thing: helping your fair run smoother, year after year.
Because your fair deserves to run on calm, not chaos.
Who You're Talking To
I’m Kryssie, a third-generation fair kid who never really left the grounds.
I’ve spent over twenty years on my local fair board, sat on the national board as a fair member, and now serve as a service member across most provincial associations, including the BC Fairs Board.
Before Fair Systems That Work, I travelled coast to coast delivering Animal Care workshops on behalf of the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions.
What I learned was simple. Every fair has heart, but not every fair has systems that protect it.
That’s why I built this arm of my company.
To help fairs, exhibitions, and rodeos capture their legacy, build systems that last, and make sure no one burns out trying to hold it all together.
Because I’ve been where you are.
And I know it can be easier.

Where We Start
Every event is different, so we start with a Fair Audit, your roadmap to clarity.
There are three levels, depending on how deep you want to go:
-
Quick Check-Up – A snapshot of where your systems stand and where you’re losing time or volunteers.
-
Standard Audit – A full review of your operations, communication, and volunteer structure with actionable fixes.
-
Full Reboot – A complete overhaul that rebuilds your systems, tools, and team flow from the ground up.
Each one ends with a real conversation, not a report that sits on a shelf.
